Ziibiwing Center Of Anishinabe Culture And Lifeways

Location: Mt. Pleaseant, Michigan
Completion Date: February 2004
Exhibit Designer: André & Associates Interpretation and Design Ltd.
Primary Exhibit Fabricator: Kubik Maltbie
Scenic Fabricator: Dixon Studios, LLC
Project Details: Dixon Studios, LLC was responsible for all high detail plant models, over 50 species, including artificial trees as well as ground forms with rock formation and all scenic theming, mural tie-ins and embossed cement flooring, petroglyph rocks, and interactive fire pits. The accuracy and attention to detail was an important aspect of the exhibit work in correctly portraying the cultural story of the Anishinabe or Great Lakes People, especially regarding the authenticity of replicated artifacts, such as, the petroglyphs, ancient native gardens, and ancient everyday tools portrayed in the two large dioramas.
